General Meeting 2016

2 November 2015

Dear Friends,

Hopefully by now you are all aware that next year’s General Meeting will be in Winchester on 23 September 2015  and enquiries have been made with the view to running a coach to the meeting.

We have been advised that hotel space is at a premium due to the Southampton Boat Show being on at the same time. Spa Coaches based in Strathpeffer has come back with the following quote. They are willing to do the trip with pick up points in Elgin, Aberdeen, Perth, Cumbernauld (frequent connections from Croy railway station and express buses from Glasgow) and Abington Services on the M74 (served by Edinburgh - Dumfries buses and buses from Lanark). We’ll depart on Wednesday 21 September and return the following Sunday.

They have gone to a great deal of trouble to find this hotel. It does look lovely, but it is pricey. You can see what it has to offer by going to the hotel’s website. You will see that it looks really good.

Here are the details of what Spa Coaches are able to provide:

The nearest hotel we could get is the Millennium Madejski Hotel, Reading, which has full leisure facilities.

We are holding 18 Twin Rooms & 7 Single Rooms (including 1 for the driver).

The cost would be £451 per person in a twin room and there is a supplement of £160 per person in a single room.

The price includes 4 nights dinner, bed & breakfast & all coach travel.

Price is based on a minimum of 30 passengers.

We have decided to go ahead with the booking but there are still places available.

Please get back to your Diocesan President or representative as soon as possible if you wish to go so.

Kind Regards,

Chris Crosley
