Aberdeen and Orkney Diocese
Situated in the North East and includes Orkney and Shetland Islands.

Aberdeen is the main city, depending largely on the oil industry, while agriculture and tourism are mainstays of the scattered population.

Trish's (MU worldwide President) visit to Aberdeen & Orkney was a happy occasion full of events which enabled many beyond our membership to glimpse the scope of the Mothers' Union work and the enthusiastic way that Trish gives love and support to the millions she has visited around the world and here in her home country.

 It was a delight to have her amongst us at formal and social events. Here the delight is on her face on being given a beautiful sheepskin rug, produced by Theresa, a Diocesan member from Orkney.

We have four branches and Diocesan members in Orkney and in Shetland also:

Members are active in their churches and towns in many ways including:

bulletgiving young parents small baby clothes for premature babies
bulletproviding emergency hospital admissions with a toilet bag
