Bishop Martin Joins Mothers’ Union

The Rt Revd Martin Shaw, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles, was enrolled in Mothers Union at a service in St St John's Cathedral, Oban on 18th February 2009.

Wave of Prayer Visitors

We were very privileged to have Archbishop Brown Turei and his wife, Mihi, from our Wave of Prayer linked Diocese of Aotearoa stay with us during their pre-Lambeth visit to our diocese in July 2008.   They were hosted by a member of Mothers’ Union here.

The photo above shows them at a supper and entertainment which was organised for all four visiting bishops and their spouses at Duror and Kentallen Village Hall in Appin. and below they are with our own Bishop Martin Shaw outside Inverary Castle during their visit.

The Archbishop is Primate of the The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia and Bishop of the Diocese of  Te Pīhopatanga o Aotearoa, with which the MU in Argyll & the Isles is linked through the Wave of Prayer.
