First Diocesan Council for Argyll & The Isles
Mothers' Union members in Argyll & The Isles met in the church hall at St
Mary's, Glencoe on 28 March 2007 for their first diocesan
council. Diocesan President Fiona Rice was in the chair as members from
Oban and Glencoe came together for the first time. The Rev Peter Rice, MU
chaplain joined the group to commission Jane Elliott as Faith and Policy
Coordinator and Diocesan Trustee while Provincial President Sheila Redwood
spoke about the work of the Mothers' Union. Members were happy in the
knowledge that a bit of history was made that day and plans were made for
future activities together.
