First Diocesan Council for Argyll & The Isles
 Mothers' Union members in Argyll & The Isles met in the church hall at St Mary's, Glencoe on 28 March 2007 for their first diocesan council. Diocesan President Fiona Rice was in the chair as members from Oban and Glencoe came together for the first time. The Rev Peter Rice, MU chaplain joined the group to commission Jane Elliott as Faith and Policy Coordinator and Diocesan Trustee while Provincial President Sheila Redwood spoke about the work of the Mothers' Union. Members were happy in the knowledge that a bit of history was made that day and plans were made for future activities together. 
This diocese consists of a large part of the West coast including offshore islands reached by ferries making travel a lengthy business.

At World Wide Council in Sep 2006 the Diocese of Argyll & The Isles was formally affiliated to the MU. Here Fiona Rice is holding the certificate.
