Our Provincial Conference, held on Thursday 24th September 2015 in Perth, was designed to meet some of the needs identified by participants in The Gathering, our 2012 conference. There were opportunities in each session to share our own experiences and discuss what is relevant to our own situation (e.g. branch or diocese). We were blessed to have two members of the Mothers’ Union team from Mary Sumner House and Revd. Thomas Brauer, Diocesan Missioner for the Scottish Episcopal Church’s Diocese of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane, making major contributions to the day.

The whole day took place in the context of prayer. We started with the Ministry of the Word and end with the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

We were particularly thinking about our relationship with the Scottish Episcopal Church and how we can support the clergy the benefits for them in supporting the Mothers’ Union in the congregations from which we are drawn from.

In the morning, we met in groups drawn from the Dioceses around the Province where we learned from each other about what we were doing in our Dioceses and inspired each other to try something new in our own.

In the afternoon, we met in our diocesan groups to discuss what we had learned and ‘dream dreams’ for the future.

We pray that the conference will indeed inspire us to work together for a bright future.
