Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Party
What a lovely excuse to dress up, indulge in dainty fare, and tea out of a cup and saucer (instead of the usual mug), and spend a pleasant afternoon chatting to friends.
The hall was transformed by flags and bunting, and we were seated at tables laden
with goodies – tasty sandwiches and squishy meringues, fruit loaf and fancies, culminating
in Agnes Thorburn’s magnificently decorated cake with its hand-
If you want to see fear on a man’s face, ask him to judge a hat
competition! But Rob handled it with his usual aplomb: Neville’s colonial inspiration winning the men’s prize, and Catherine Pow the ladies’ with her royal extravaganza.
The quiz caused much hilarity, resulting in a tiebreaker of epic length!
