Annual Scottish Provincial Retreat

Our annual silent retreat provides an opportunity to be quiet and feel God’s presence. It is held at the welcoming and comfortable setting of St. Mary's Monastery, Kinnoull beside Perth.

The retreat is run mid-week from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday lunchtime usually in March each year. The monastery is on the side of Kinnoull Hill where there a extensive walks and beautiful views over Perth, the River Tay and the surrounding countryside. The 2011 Retreat will be held from 5th to 7th April, but still in Lent. Watch this page for more details in due course.

The 2010 Retreat has just concluded. The leader was the Revd. Prebendary Lawrence Price who some of you will know as the husband of Jean Price the MU Central Marketing Co-ordinator. The theme for this year was "Here I am Lord" or more to the point “Why me?” Using examples from his own life Lawrence talked about how important each one of us is to the work of God in the world and how God may be nudging us (or even prodding us quite hard) to do a piece of work that only we can do. We are unique and we have a unique role to play. Watch this page for more recollections to be added in the near future. In the meantime, please have a look at the photo gallery. We hope those who were there will enjoy the memories they bring back and we also hope they will encourage those who weren’t there to make a date to come next year.

In March 2009 the Retreat leader was Right Revd. Bob Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney. He explored the various aspects of the healing ministry of the church.
