Annual Scottish Provincial Retreat

Our annual silent retreat provides an opportunity to be quiet and feel God’s presence. It is held at the welcoming and comfortable setting of St. Mary's Monastery, Kinnoull beside Perth.

The retreat is run mid-week from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday lunchtime usually in March each year. The monastery is on the side of Kinoull Hill where there a extensive walks and beautiful views over Perth and the River Tay and the surrounding countryside. The 2010 Retreat will be held from 16th to 18th March and the cost per person will be £85.

The Leader will be the Rev Lawrence Price who some of you will know as the husband of Jean Price the MU Central Marketing Co-ordinator. The theme for this year is "Here I am Lord" or more to the point “Why me?”

If you would like to apply for a place please download the information letter by clicking here and complete and return the slip attached to it to our Provincial Treasurer, Mrs Doreen Esnol. 26, Lochwood Park, Kingseat, Dunfermline KY12 0UX

The envelope should be marked "MU Retreat". There will be no deposit but once your place is confirmed the full amount of £85 should be sent to the same address as soon as possible. You should aim to arrive between 2pm and 2.30pm on the first day to allow time to settle in before afternoon tea.

In March 2009 the Retreat leader was Right Revd. Bob Gillies, Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney. He explored the various aspects of the healing ministry of the church. The photo at the top of this page shows the members who attended with Bob (centre below wall plaque).
