New Mothers' Union Prayer

Loving Lord We thank you for your love so freely given to us all.

We pray for families around the world.

Bless the work of the Mothers' union as we seek to share

Your love through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life.

Empowered by your spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship,

and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world.

Lord,
You have given us a gift,
A gift to clasp joyfully,
A gift to hold tenderly,
A gift to handle carefully,
a gift so easily broken, so hard to mend,
A gift to cherish through time,
A gift becoming ever more precious with the years.
A sacred gift,
The gift of love.

Celtic Night Prayer

As the tide draws the waters
Close in upon the shore
Make me an island,
Set apart,
Alone with you, God,
Holy to You.

Then, with the turning of the tide
Prepare me to carry your presence
To the busy world beyond,
The world that rushes in on me
Till the waters come again
And fold me back to you.

Annual Retreat

Our annual silent retreat is held at

St. Mary's Monastery, Kinnoull beside Perth where we spend a couple of nights and enjoy the scenery.

In March 2007 the Retreat leader was Right Rev. Martin Shaw Bishop of Argyll

and the Isles.
