Strawberry Tea 2011

This picture was taken at this year’s Strawberry Tea run by our branch in aid of Away from it All Holiday Project.  It is an annual event enjoyed by all our members and this year took place in Carol Carens garden.  More photos...

Branch Banner Dedicated

The new banner for Forth Valley Branch was dedicated during a special service on 21 March 2010 at Holy Trinity Church, Stirling.  The banner, was dedicated by Mothers' Union Member Rev Alison Peden.  It is shown here with some of the members who attended the service.

The banner had its first outing on Saturday 27 March 2010 for Lady Day at St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth.

More pictures are in our photo gallery which includes pictures from our Christmas lunch at the end of 2009.  Click here...

Strawberry Tea Party

Forth Valley Branch held a Strawberry Tea Party in a members’ garden on 10 June 2009 in aid of Away for it all funding and raised over £100.  The members were entertained with competitions, music, a ‘bring and buy’ stall and a raffle.

The answers to the garden plant competitions were fun, but clearly two members are well versed in garden plant names coming joint winners with 17 correct answers.  Naming the garden cat had them all stumped though with the name of Mr Mistoffelees.

Lots of strawberries and cream were consumed and a really fun evening was enjoyed by all.  Thanks to all who contributed to the evening were given by Mary Kenyon the Branch leader.   (Five husbands joined us for the evening.)

Congo Relief

The last day of February 2009 saw the Forth Valley Branch and friends from around the diocese hold a successful coffee morning which raised well over £350 for our Relief Work in the Congo.

Above we see Sheila Redwood wearing an apron that was a gift from Ruth Bakare.  Ruth was the Diocesan President for MU in the diocese of Manicaland, Zimbabwe and wife of the bishop. She visited our diocese when Sheila was the Diocesan President. We used to send out parcels of children's clothes for the orphanages in their diocese.

Branch Inauguration

The branch was commissioned by Bishop David Chillingworth of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane on Sunday, 8th February when six new members were also be enrolled.

This was an exciting event and great credit is due to the group of three members of Holy Trinity whose enthusiasm brought the branch into being.

The branch is based at Holy Trinity, Stirling and includes members who live in Dunblane, Alloa, Dollar and other surrounding charges.
