Simple Meals for Skint Singles
On 17th and 18th of September 2008, several members of Mothers’ Union spent enjoyable hours selling copies of our cookery book ’Simple Meals for Skint Singles’.
We engage them in conversation about their courses and just generally try to put them at ease over the big step of moving from home to Uni. We asked many of them if they would sign Christmas cards for sending to prisoners in Kilmarnock Prison and had on the whole a very positive response from them.
The highlight of the days we meeting a young girl from Aberdeen who was directly descended from Mary Sumner (the founder of our charity). In fact she is also called Mary Sumner and is her great, great granddaughter. In the picture she is holding the recipe book.
If you would like to have your own copy of the book, please contact Hilary Moran via info@muingg.org.uk. The recipe book. costs £2 + pp.
