Members are involved in volunteer work in many ways, including:
bulletPlaying with and befriending children whilst their parents are visiting inmates at Saughton Prison, Edinburgh
bulletSupporting parents who unexpectedly have a premature baby by knitting very small baby clothes for the Simpson Maternity Unit, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary
bulletFund raising for families from the diocese to have a much needed holiday with the MU scheme 'Away From It All Holidays' 
bulletGiving toilet bags to hospitals for people who have been admitted as an emergency

 

We are linked through correspondence and prayer with the diocese of:

bulletKurunagala (Sri Lanka)
bulletMpwapwa (Tanzania)
bulletPort Sudan (Sudan)

 The Mothers' Union played an effective role in providing a Relief Fund grant to Colombo, following the Tsunami of

Boxing Day 2004.
