Argyll and the Isles

This diocese consists of a large part of the West coast including offshore islands reached by ferries making travel a lengthy business.  

The Diocese was formally affiliated to the MU at World Wide Council in Sep 2006.

There is  one branch in the Diocese at:

• Cathedral Church of St. John, Oban

There are many diocesan members scattered over this large rural diocese.

Activities of members in the diocese include:

• knitting teddies for children at the Oban Hospital
• providing a baby changing facility at the Oban Games
• supporting the outreach work of their churches

The diocese is linked in prayer with the following dioceses:

• Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa (Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia)
• Aguata (Nigeria)
• Arochukwo/Ohafia (Nigeria)
• Badagary (Nigeria)
• Wiawso (West Africa)

The diocese’s is prayed for in the Wave of Prayer during the period 26-31 March as are all the dioceses above.
